Hidden among the corners of the interior of Portugal, Praia Fluvial de Castelo Novo has as its backdrop the beautiful Serra da Gardunha, which is part of the Aldeias do Xisto program. It has a bar and terrace, picnic tables, and bathrooms with changing rooms.

Here you can find a vast area of vegetation. Along the bathing area there is a small board where you can dive. It has a bar, restaurant, barbecue area and sanitary facilities. There is also a football field and basketball tables.

The Souto da Casa River Park has two bathing areas. A deeper and a shallower one, the latter, more suitable for children, can be accessed via a ramp. To spread your towel there is plenty of shade in a green space that also has picnic tables.

In perfect communion with nature, in the middle of Serra da Gardunha, we find Lavacolhos River Beach. It is the waters of the Gardunha river that bath this beach, which is endowed with various infrastructures and with extensive grasslands and shadows.

On the site you find a small bridge that gives access to a sandy area and an extensive variety of rocks where you can stretch your towel. It is a rather quiet space surrounded by shadows. For the most adventurous, the rocks serve as diving boards. The whole area is suitable for picnics

In Penha Garcia, the granite rocks present here possess fossils with millions of years. The watershed is bounded by walls that originate a natural pool of clear waters. The presence of the magnificent waterfall further embellishes this landscape and the most adventurous can jump from it.

The proximity of the Zêzere is one of the biggest attractions of Janeiro de Cima and it is in this village of Xisto that we find the River Park of Lavandeira. It is one of the most beautiful places in the region with the traditional Barque there and the old Roda de Janeiro, recently recovered.
